Hello people, today I will go over some basic blending. This shall also give you a little thought about layer masks, my hidden friend.
One thing to remember about layer masks is that:

Black = Removes || White = Recovers.

Remember that, great to know. But lets get into it.

First thing you want to do is find open the images you want to use. I chose 2 images of Lupe Fiasco.<

Next, we'll need a new document. Size is up to you, all depends on what you're doing. What I used:

You will have to select your move tool. Either mouse click or by pressing "v". The highlighted one:

Drag your images to the new canvas and position as you would like. Myself:

Quick Resizing Tip:
Select your top layer and go to Edit > Transform > Scale.

A bounding box should show up around your image with with 6 points like the picture above. Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift and click and hold one of the corner points and drag it to the center to scale down. Double click inside the box once you got what you like. After that is done, remember to never scale up, you lose quality.

Another tip. Select your other layer and go to Edit > Transform > Again. You'll get:

But I don't like that, so I press Ctrl + Alt + Z to step back a couple steps.

Now go back to you layers palette and look at the bottom for a square with a circle in the center of it. This is your layer mask. Make sure it's on your top layer.

Next you'll need your brush tool. Either press "b" or:

Top of the screen, look for a little triangle pointing down. You need to choose a nice brush. I used a soft round 65px for the big parts.

Be sure to have your layer mask selected and make sure your foreground is black and background is white. Now start brush over what needs to be deleted. If you go over something that you wanted to keep, press "x" to switch your colors and go back over the area.

Almost done, need to get the hard areas. You just need to get a smaller brush and zoom in.

Ctrl + + = Zoom in || Ctrl + - = Zoom out

I changed my brush size to 5px to work around the hand.

After:

At this point you are basically done. Not that much to it.

Soon, I'll teach other things that you may not know but what to learn. Until next time, peace.
